Ediscere ist eine Sprachlern-App, die bewusst datensparsam gebaut ist. Standardmäßig läuft die App vollständig offline: Deine Inhalte und dein Lernfortschritt bleiben auf deinem Gerät. Personenbezogene Daten verarbeiten wir nur dann, wenn du dich freiwillig für zusätzliche Funktionen wie die Cloud-Synchronisierung anmeldest.

2. Grundsatz: offline & ohne Konto

Nach der Installation kannst du Ediscere ohne Konto und ohne Internetverbindung nutzen. Lernfortschritt, Profile und Einstellungen werden ausschließlich lokal auf deinem Gerät gespeichert, solange du dich nicht anmeldest (siehe Abschnitt 4). Es findet keine Übertragung an uns oder Dritte statt, solange du keine anmeldepflichtige Funktion aktivierst. Es gibt keine Werbung, kein Nutzer-Tracking und keine Analyse-Werkzeuge.

3. Lokale Speicherung auf deinem Gerät

Ohne Anmeldung speichert Ediscere alle Daten nur lokal auf deinem Gerät, in der Web-Version im Browser. Dazu gehören:

• dein Lernfortschritt und deine Statistiken (gelernte Wörter, XP, Streak, gepinnte Wörter, Kapitelauswahl, Erfolge),
• deine angelegten Profile (Name, Avatar, Farbe),
• dein Lernprofil aus der Einrichtung (Name, Wortform bzw. Geschlecht, Motivation, Niveau, Berufsfeld),
• deine gewählten Sprachen und App-Einstellungen.

Diese Daten werden ohne Anmeldung nicht an uns oder Dritte übertragen.

Profile kannst du auf Wunsch mit einer selbst gewählten PIN schützen. Die Verschlüsselung erfolgt auf dem Gerät; die PIN wird nie übertragen. PIN-geschützte Profile werden auch bei einer Anmeldung nicht synchronisiert. Ihr Lernstand und ihre Einstellungen bleiben ausschließlich auf dem Gerät, auf dem sie angelegt wurden. War ein Profil vorher bereits synchronisiert, löschen wir seinen Lernstand in der Cloud und behalten nur einen anonymen Vermerk (interne Profil-Kennung ohne Namen), damit deine anderen Geräte die Synchronisierung dieses Profils beenden.

Du kannst die lokalen Daten jederzeit löschen: einzelne Kapitel oder den ganzen Fortschritt in der App zurücksetzen, ein Profil entfernen oder die App deinstallieren.

4. Optionale Cloud-Synchronisierung

Nur wenn du dich freiwillig anmeldest, synchronisiert Ediscere deine Daten zwischen deinen Geräten. Du kannst dich per E-Mail-Code, „Sign in with Apple" oder Google-Anmeldung anmelden (siehe Abschnitt 5). Dabei verarbeiten wir:

1. Konto und Anmeldung: deine E-Mail-Adresse und eine Nutzer-ID (bei Apple ggf. eine anonymisierte Weiterleitungsadresse) – zur Anmeldung und Zuordnung deines Kontos.
2. Lernstand: gelernte Wörter und Wiederholungsstand, XP, Streak und Streak-Schutz, gepinnte Wörter, Kapitelauswahl, gelesene Einheiten und Erfolge.
3. Einstellungen: Lern- und Ausgangssprache, Tagesziel, Vorlese-Tempo, Stimmenwahl, Ton an/aus, Tempo-Modus und Startbildschirm-Einstellung.
4. Profile: Profilname, Avatar, Farbe und Reihenfolge – nur für Profile ohne PIN.
5. Lernprofil aus der Einrichtung: Name, Wortform bzw. Geschlecht (männlich/weiblich/divers), Motivation (z. B. Reise, Beruf), Niveau und gegebenenfalls Berufsfeld. Diese Angaben dienen dazu, Beispielsätze und Kapitelvorschläge anzupassen; das Geschlecht verwenden wir ausschließlich für die grammatisch richtige Wortform.
6. Nur bei „Sign in with Apple": ein Refresh-Token von Apple, damit wir die Verknüpfung mit deiner Apple-ID beim Löschen deines Kontos widerrufen können, wie Apple es vorschreibt.
7. Nur beim Einlösen eines Gutschein-Codes: deine Nutzer-ID, der Bezug zum eingelösten Code, der Zeitpunkt, der damit freigeschaltete Premium-Status und dessen Laufzeit – um die Freischaltung zu prüfen, ihre Laufzeit zu beachten und eine Mehrfach-Einlösung zu verhindern.

Die Übertragung ist verschlüsselt (TLS). Gespeichert wird bei unserem Auftragsverarbeiter Supabase in einem Rechenzentrum in der EU (Frankfurt am Main). Der Zugriff ist pro Konto beschränkt: Jede Nutzerin und jeder Nutzer sieht nur die eigenen Daten.

Nicht übertragen werden: PIN-geschützte Profile und deren Daten (außer dem anonymen Vermerk, siehe Abschnitt 3), deine PIN, Zahlungsdaten sowie Audio- und Kameradaten. Der Premium-Status aus In-App-Käufen wird über Apple verwaltet (siehe Abschnitt 6) und nicht von uns in der Cloud gespeichert; ausgenommen ist die Freischaltung per Gutschein-Code (Punkt 7).

Damit ein per Gutschein freigeschaltetes Premium auch offline funktioniert, merkt sich die App den Premium-Status deines Kontos bis zu 30 Tage lokal auf dem Gerät.

Zweck und Rechtsgrundlage: Die Synchronisierung macht deinen Lernstand auf mehreren Geräten verfügbar. Rechtsgrundlage ist die Erfüllung des Nutzungsvertrags (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b DSGVO). Für die freiwilligen Profilangaben (Name, Wortform bzw. Geschlecht, Motivation, Berufsfeld) gilt zusätzlich deine Einwilligung (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO); du kannst diese Felder leer lassen oder jederzeit ändern.

Löschung: In der App unter „Fortschritt sichern" → Cloud-Sync → „Konto löschen" löschst du jederzeit dein Konto und alle in der Cloud gespeicherten Daten; bei Apple-Anmeldung wird dabei auch das Apple-Token widerrufen. Mit „Abmelden" beendest du die Synchronisierung; bereits gespeicherte Cloud-Daten bleiben dann bis zur Löschung erhalten.

5. Anmeldung (Sign in with Apple, Google, E-Mail)

Für die Anmeldung stehen drei Wege zur Verfügung: „Sign in with Apple", Google-Anmeldung oder ein per E-Mail zugesandter Einmal-Code. Bei „Sign in with Apple" und Google erfolgt die Authentifizierung bei Apple bzw. Google; wir erhalten dabei ein Anmelde-Token und eine E-Mail-Adresse (bei Apple ggf. eine anonymisierte Weiterleitungsadresse). Bei „Sign in with Apple" speichern wir zusätzlich ein Refresh-Token, um die Verknüpfung beim Löschen deines Kontos widerrufen zu können (siehe Abschnitt 4). Es werden keine Kontaktlisten, Beiträge oder sonstigen Profildaten ausgelesen. Anbieter sind die Apple Inc. bzw. Google Ireland Ltd.; es gelten deren Datenschutzbestimmungen.

6. Käufe (In-App-Käufe)

Premium-Funktionen und Zusatzpakete werden als In-App-Käufe über den App Store von Apple abgewickelt. Die Zahlung wickelt Apple ab; wir erhalten keine Zahlungsdaten wie Kartennummern, sondern lediglich die Information, ob ein Kauf gültig ist. Für die Zahlungsabwicklung gilt die Datenschutzerklärung von Apple.

7. Foto-Scan (Texterkennung)

Die optionale Foto-Funktion erkennt Wörter aus einem Bild direkt auf deinem Gerät. Die Bilder werden nicht an uns oder Dritte übertragen und nicht gespeichert. Der Zugriff auf Kamera oder Fotos erfolgt nur nach deiner ausdrücklichen Freigabe im Betriebssystem.

8. Keine Werbung, kein Tracking

Ediscere enthält keine Werbe-SDKs, keine Tracking-Pixel und kein plattformübergreifendes Nutzer-Tracking. Es werden keine Daten zu Werbezwecken erhoben oder weitergegeben.

9. Auftragsverarbeiter & Empfänger

• Supabase – Datenbank, Authentifizierung und Gutschein-Prüfung, Speicherung in der EU (nur bei Anmeldung).
• Apple – App-Auslieferung, „Sign in with Apple", Zahlungsabwicklung von In-App-Käufen.
• Google – nur bei Wahl der Google-Anmeldung.

Mit Auftragsverarbeitern bestehen bzw. werden Verträge zur Auftragsverarbeitung nach Art. 28 DSGVO geschlossen.

10. Speicherdauer

Lokale Daten bleiben gespeichert, bis du sie löschst oder die App deinstallierst. Bei aktivierter Cloud-Synchronisierung werden deine Kontodaten gespeichert, bis du dein Konto löschst oder die Löschung verlangst. Gutschein-Einlösungen bleiben bis zur Löschung deines Kontos gespeichert, damit eine Mehrfach-Einlösung ausgeschlossen ist.

11. Deine Rechte

Du hast das Recht auf Auskunft (Art. 15), Berichtigung (Art. 16), Löschung (Art. 17), Einschränkung der Verarbeitung (Art. 18), Datenübertragbarkeit (Art. 20) und Widerspruch (Art. 21 DSGVO). Eine erteilte Einwilligung kannst du jederzeit mit Wirkung für die Zukunft widerrufen. Wende dich dazu an legal@siyaya-digital.com. Zudem hast du das Recht, dich bei einer Datenschutz-Aufsichtsbehörde zu beschweren.

12. Kinder

Die App richtet sich nicht gezielt an Kinder. Konten für die optionale Cloud-Synchronisierung sollten nur mit Zustimmung der Erziehungsberechtigten angelegt werden.

13. Änderungen

Wir passen diese Datenschutzerklärung an, wenn sich Funktionen oder rechtliche Anforderungen ändern. Die jeweils aktuelle Fassung ist über die App und diese Website abrufbar.

Privacy Policy

Ediscere is a language-learning app built to be deliberately data-minimal. By default the app runs fully offline: your content and progress stay on your device. We only process personal data if you voluntarily sign in for additional features such as cloud sync.

2. Principle: offline & account-free

After installation you can use Ediscere without an account and without an internet connection. Progress, profiles and settings are stored only locally on your device as long as you do not sign in (see section 4). Nothing is transmitted to us or third parties unless you activate a feature that requires signing in. There are no ads, no user tracking and no analytics tools.

3. Local storage on your device

Without signing in, Ediscere stores all data only locally on your device (in the web version, in your browser). This includes:

• your learning progress and statistics (learned words, XP, streak, pinned words, chapter selection, achievements),
• the profiles you create (name, avatar, colour),
• your learner profile from the setup (name, word form or gender, motivation, level, field of work),
• your chosen languages and app settings.

Without signing in, this data is not transmitted to us or third parties.

You can optionally protect profiles with a PIN you choose. Encryption happens on the device; the PIN is never transmitted. PIN-protected profiles are not synced, even when you are signed in. Their progress and settings stay only on the device where they were created. If a profile was synced before, we delete its progress in the cloud and keep only an anonymous marker (internal profile ID without a name) so that your other devices stop syncing this profile.

You can delete local data at any time: reset individual chapters or all progress in the app, remove a profile, or uninstall the app.

4. Optional cloud sync

Only if you voluntarily sign in does Ediscere sync your data across your devices. You can sign in with an email code, "Sign in with Apple" or Google (see section 5). In that case we process:

1. Account and sign-in: your email address and a user ID (with Apple, possibly an anonymised relay address) – to sign you in and identify your account.
2. Learning progress: learned words and review state, XP, streak and streak protection, pinned words, chapter selection, units read and achievements.
3. Settings: learning and source language, daily goal, speech rate, voice, sound on/off, pace mode and start screen setting.
4. Profiles: profile name, avatar, colour and order – only for profiles without a PIN.
5. Learner profile from the setup: name, word form or gender (male/female/diverse), motivation (e.g. travel, work), level and, if given, field of work. We use these details to tailor example sentences and chapter suggestions; gender is used solely for the grammatically correct word form.
6. Only with "Sign in with Apple": a refresh token from Apple, so that we can revoke the link to your Apple ID when you delete your account, as Apple requires.
7. Only when redeeming a voucher code: your user ID, the reference to the redeemed code, the time, the Premium status it unlocks and its duration – to verify the unlock, respect its duration and prevent multiple redemptions.

Transmission is encrypted (TLS). Data is stored with our processor Supabase in a data centre in the EU (Frankfurt am Main). Access is restricted per account: each user can only see their own data.

Not transmitted: PIN-protected profiles and their data (except the anonymous marker, see section 3), your PIN, payment data, and audio or camera data. Premium status from in-app purchases is managed by Apple (see section 6) and not stored by us in the cloud; the exception is an unlock via voucher code (item 7).

So that Premium unlocked with a voucher also works offline, the app remembers your account's Premium status locally on the device for up to 30 days.

Purpose and legal basis: Sync makes your progress available on several devices. The legal basis is the performance of the usage contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). For the voluntary profile details (name, word form or gender, motivation, field of work), your consent also applies (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); you can leave these fields empty or change them at any time.

Deletion: In the app under "Save progress" → Cloud sync → "Delete Account" you can delete your account and all data stored in the cloud at any time; with Apple sign-in, the Apple token is revoked as well. "Sign out" stops syncing; data already stored in the cloud remains until it is deleted.

5. Sign-in (Sign in with Apple, Google, email)

Three sign-in methods are available: "Sign in with Apple", Google sign-in, or a one-time code sent by email. With "Sign in with Apple" and Google, authentication takes place at Apple or Google; we receive a sign-in token and an email address (with Apple, possibly an anonymised relay address). With "Sign in with Apple" we also store a refresh token so that the link can be revoked when you delete your account (see section 4). No contact lists, posts or other profile data are read. The providers are Apple Inc. and Google Ireland Ltd.; their privacy policies apply.

6. Purchases (in-app purchases)

Premium features and add-on packs are handled as in-app purchases through Apple's App Store. Payment is processed by Apple; we receive no payment data such as card numbers, only whether a purchase is valid. Apple's privacy policy applies to payment processing.

7. Photo scan (text recognition)

The optional photo feature recognises words from an image directly on your device. Images are not transmitted to us or third parties and are not stored. Access to the camera or photos happens only after your explicit permission in the operating system.

8. No ads, no tracking

Ediscere contains no advertising SDKs, no tracking pixels and no cross-app user tracking. No data is collected or shared for advertising purposes.

9. Processors & recipients

• Supabase — database, authentication and voucher verification, stored in the EU (only when you sign in).
• Apple — app delivery, "Sign in with Apple", in-app purchase payment processing.
• Google — only if you choose Google sign-in.

Data processing agreements pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR are in place or are being concluded with processors.

10. Retention

Local data remains stored until you delete it or uninstall the app. When cloud sync is enabled, your account data is kept until you delete your account or request its deletion. Voucher redemptions are kept until your account is deleted so that multiple redemptions are excluded.

11. Your rights

You have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21 GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. To do so, contact legal@siyaya-digital.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

12. Children

The app is not specifically directed at children. Accounts for optional cloud sync should only be created with the consent of a parent or guardian.

13. Changes

We update this privacy policy when features or legal requirements change. The current version is available via the app and this website.
